How and What We Teach

Classes are designed to provide individual instruction for each student, this means that each person can work on their own project and at their own pace. This enables the instructor to give each person the guidance that need to help them discover their own personal way of making the art they want to make. These classes are not to imitate the teacher, but rather to be engage each student in a process of self discovery that will lead them to find their own style, technique, and creative potential.

Instruction consists of a twofold process that will teach students both the formal and expressive elements of drawing and painting. By bringing these two aspects of art creation together students can achieve the highest point value of personal creativity in their art.

Understanding the formal elements of art consists of learning about line, shape, form, composition balance, color mixing and application, as well as an entire range of drawing and painting techniques in any media the student wishes to learn and in any style such as: Realism, Classicism, Plein Air,  Impressionism, or any form of abstraction

The expressive elements of art consist of imbuing the works with emotion and feeling, giving expression to the imagination through the intuitive heuristic learning process in a natural way. This helps students to bring forth the aesthetic radiance in art.
